We've added this page to our website as an aid to those of you in a search of a home improvement contractor. It is always very disturbing to many of us in the home remodeling industry to hear or read about "scam artists" or unsavory business practices by those claiming to be "professionals"! We cannot stress enough the importance of thoroughly researching and interviewing any contractors you may be thinking about hiring. Regardless of what type of project or remodeling you are contemplating, PLEASE READ BELOW for some tips on what to look for in a contractor and who to avoid!
Also, please beware of what you might see or read on other deck contractor's websites. Check out for yourself all claims or statements made by any contractor, keeping in mind that some may try to mislead you into believing that they are the best option, bar none. In reference to another local deck company's claims and statements, here are our FACTS:
1.) We are an established deck building business as we have been building decks in the Omaha/Lincoln metro areas since 1988.
2.) We have proven expertise in building custom decks as we have also built 1,000's of decks in the Omaha area. We also have a large portfolio of pictures of all of our projects as well as an iPad Photo gallery for your viewing at our appointment with you.
3.) We have expert knowledge of local building codes, zoning laws, permit requirements and utility locator services. We are also bonded & licensed in all local jurisdictions who have these requirements.
4.) We specialize in different varieties of wood decking as well as composite, PVC and capstock alternative decking as we have been building wood decks for over 24 years and PVC and composite decks since their introduction to the decking market.
5.) We show a total commitment to your deck project from start to finish. We are highly skilled at what we do and even though we only have a "2 man crew", we are in & out within a few days to build your new deck. We don't need a huge crew of workers to complete most decks, we are more efficient than that and realize you don't want or need a large crew of people on your property!
6.) We also use state of the art 3D deck design software so that you can see an image of your deck project before you buy.
7.) We are a TimberTech Gold Contractor, an AZEK PVC Decking Preferred Contractor as well as the only Nebraska member of NADRA (North American Deck & Railing Association). We also promote & build with what we feel are the top quality brands of decking products and we absolutely won't build your deck with just anything, especially "off brands"! In fact, we've turned away deck projects requested by homeowners because they were insistent on using a lower quality decking product that we knew to have a poor track record. Also, we have never voided a decking product warranty by improperly installing any deck products. We also register all decking products for their warranty for our customers as well as managing any and all deck product warranty claims made by our customers.
8.) We are an Accredited Business with the Better Business Bureau and also have an A+ rating with them. (Click here for our BBB Rating Page)
9.) We provide complete, high quality customer service from start to finish, even providing additional services at no charge that other deck companies don't provide. Our deck estimate & contract is very concise and detailed, more so than many others, leaving you as the customer with complete confidence in knowing that you are getting the deck you want. We also break out our labor and material costs, which many other deck building company's do not.
10.) And finally, we DO NOT have a showroom or display decks for customers to view BUT we do have hundreds of local past customers who will allow us to show you their deck projects that we have completed. We feel it is more important for our potential customers to see the quality of our work as well as the decking products involved in "REAL TIME"! We also feel that without the added "overhead" expense of a showroom this will allow us to keep our prices lower for you, the customer.
All in all, we want every potential customer to make sure to research any and all "points to consider" statements made by any contractor to determine which have been made erroneously! Some contractors would like you to believe that they are the only game in town, when in fact, that just isn't true...there are a few more of us who can give you the same (and quite possibly better!) quality craftsmanship & customer service for your deck project. So rest assured, you DO have more than one choice!
NEW FEDERAL LEAD LAWS WILL GO INTO EFFECT IN 2010 FOR REMODELING CONTRACTORS. IF YOUR HOME WAS BUILT PRIOR TO 1978, SEE MORE INFORMATION AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE.

"Home Sweet Home Improvement"
Whether you’re planning an addition for a growing family or simply getting new storm windows, finding a competent and reliable contractor is the first step to a successful and satisfying home improvement project.
Your home may be your most valuable financial asset. That’s why it’s important to be cautious when you hire someone to work on it. Home improvement and repair and maintenance contractors often advertise in newspapers, the Yellow Pages, and on the radio and TV. However, don’t consider an ad an indication of the quality of a contractor’s work. Your best bet is a reality check from those in the know: friends, neighbors, or co-workers who have had improvement work done. Get written estimates from several firms. Ask for explanations for price variations. Don’t automatically choose the lowest bidder.
Don’t Get Nailed
Not all contractors operate within the law. Here are some tip-offs to potential rip-offs. A less than reputable contractor:

One last TIP....
When comparing estimates you receive from different contractors, be sure to check carefully that all of the estimates you receive are specific to the type and scope of labor and materials estimated so that you are confident each contractor is bidding your project exactly the same. Remember, the lowest bid may not always be the best choice and many times is NOT the same in scope or materials as the other bids. Be especially wary of any estimate that you receive that is significantly lower than the others. Ask for explanations in price variations from all bidding contractors.

Effective April 22, 2010
Common renovation activities like sanding, cutting, and demolition can create hazardous lead dust and chips by disturbing lead-based paint, which can be harmful to adults and children.
To protect against this risk, on April 22, 2008, the United States EPA issued a rule requiring the use of lead-safe practices and other actions aimed at preventing lead poisoning. Under the rule, beginning in April 2010, contractors performing renovation, repair and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint in homes, child care facilities, and schools built before 1978 must be certified and must follow specific work practices to prevent lead contamination. A list of EPA certified contractors will be available soon at the EPA Lead website at the following link:
