Mike Jansen Custom Cedar Decks is a family owned and operated Deck Building business located in Omaha, Nebraska.  We have been in business building decks in the Metro area for 20 years.  Our primary goal with each and every deck we build is to ensure our customers are receiving the best installation with the best products at the right price!

Along with my wife, Heidi, who handles everything from assisting with deck design software and permit applications to marketing and bookkeeping (not to mention providing the very BEST in customer service!), we work to provide our customers with a very easy, no-hassle building process.  We make it our policy to keep our customers promptly informed on the progress of their deck from every aspect.  From the status of their permit application to the final stages and "custom" design extras, we work to insure that our customers are completely satisified every step of the way! 

We are also 100% commited to each deck as we build it.  You won't find us starting your deck and then running off to start something else just to keep up with the big companies!  Having a large family ourselves (6 children!), we know that "home time" with your family is very important and we want to cause as little disruption to that time as possible.  Most decks we build are completed within 1 - 3 days depending on the size!

Our Business 

We have been in business since 1988 building custom decks on new and existing residential homes in the Omaha area.  We offer complete deck building services, from design and product selection through the completion of your new deck including managing the installation of custom extras like lighting or hot tubs by other local contractors. 

We do not hire subcontractors to build your deck, as the owner of this business, I am present and working on each and every deck we build!   Whether you use your deck for outdoor entertaining or as a quiet getaway for only YOU, we want every deck we build to be the outdoor living space our customers envision.

We will design and build any custom additions our customers may want such as built-in benches (with storage, if needed!), planter boxes, TV enclosures, grill areas and build-out for Hot Tubs, to name a few.  

We also install under deck rain carrying systems such as DrySnap™ or TimberTech® DrySpace products.  These systems are especially nice if you have a patio under your walkout deck.  They carry any water from your deck surface to a gutter-style drainage system to prevent your lower patio area from getting wet every time it rains or you hose off your deck! These systems are also visually aesthetic because they provide a finished look to the underside of your deck... you're not looking up at the exposed beams and decking boards!
